Problem
When consumers are not aware of the consequences of their actions it causes them to simply do what they find the easiest instead of what may be the most eco-friendly. An area in which this comes into play is within buisnesses and the single use plastic that they encourage their consumers to use solely because its easier/cheaper.
WHat we need to do
As a society and as consumers we need to educate ourselves on the impact single use plastics have on the environment. We need to give buisnesses the opportunity to collaborate with envirnmental organizations to bring awareness to their consumers.
cHALLENGES WE FACE
Companies that don't initially receive a good green rating might not want to participate as it brings their flaws to light when it comes to eco-friendliness.
For companies to improve their rating they will have to change and find better alternatives that can occasionally be uncomfortable/ more expensive.
Overall, forcing companies out of their comfort zones and making them change for the better will be a huge obstacle to face throughout this project.
